May 29, 2010 . AAC sanctionned Agility trial hosted by DAL club.
It was a very unusual trial as at first it rained cats and dogs the whole day through in Edmonton, AB , and then we had an onset of heavy snow fall (it's almost June!). It was wet and muddy, and slippery, and very cold. The coats got soaked in less then thirty seconds. The shoes...it was worse than barefoot, I think.     Ulla (Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) was pulled off the trial - that is not the weather for Veterans, but the others competed the first day and were pulled off the second day after the snow. Despite the weather, our youngsters did very good. Zar (Zar Bazan) , his first time performance in Gamblers , completed sucessfully two Minis and earned 37 points in the Opening instead of required 20 . Zora (Zlata Zorjana) got first twice and qualified with a very confident and impressive performance in both Starters Gamblers and Starters Snooker her first AAC Qs
May 9,2010. AAC sanctionned Agility trial hosted by OC Agility club in Edmonton, AB.
That was a very small, in terms of the events variety, but successful trial for our team. Ulla (Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) got second and qualified in Masters Gamblers (it's her sixth Masters Q in this event). Romi came second and qualified in Advanced Standard. Tanto came first and qualified in Advaced Gamblers and moved up to Masters Gamblers class. She also got the third place and Q-d in the Steeplechase. Little Zora also participated in Steeplechase, which is a unified Masters level course, and came clean and first. She did not Q as she was late one second, but had a really impressive run: 37 sec for 20 obstacles including two 12-weavepole sets.

Ulla (CH Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) - AAC Agility Trial Champion Of Canada

We are very proud to announce that the AAC Agility trial hosted by the DAL club on April 4th, 2010, in Edmonton, AB, became a real milestone in Ulla's Agility 'career'.

The forth Q in Masters Jumpers earned her the Masters Jumpers title . And that was the very last necessary requirement to be met in order to aquire the status of a Champion.

Ulla is the first and, so far, the only Black Russian Terrier in Canada that has managed to reach that level of achievement and earned her ATChC in this very exciting and challenging sport. And if 29" tall, 130lbs, more than a meter in girth Ulla can 'shoot' through a tunnel, why don't you give it a try?! BRTs can do wonders, and they do wonders. It is up to their owners to seize the opportunity and prove to the world the uniqueness of these magnificent dogs.

March 27, 2010. NADAC Agility trial hosted by 'It's a Dog's World' club in Calgary, Alberta.
Ulla (Kalinka's Lora de Verdun) has had a very successful day at this trial. She ran four times and qualified in two rounds of Elite Regular and in Elite Chances bringing the count, respectively, to 170 and 80 points. In the extremely complicated Elite Chances course with more than ten obstacles behind the line, several switches in direction of running, and the significant distance away from the handler she had to work (sometimes over 5m), Ulla managed to complete the assignment in 32.7 sec out of alotted 40 sec. She would have also qualified in her last Jumpers run, but got too excited and smashed the post making a very tight wrap which, obviously, was no better than dropping a bar. Romi, the Border Terrier, qualified and came first in Open Regular. She also earned her second qualifying leg and came second in Elite Tunnelers . Zora (Zlata Zorjana) competed this time in Proficient class, which, by the rules, cuts her times shorter and raises her jump heights. She had a nice run in Jumpers, easily fitted the times, but, being not experienced enough and running too fast, got lured in one of the off course traps designed by the judge. In Novice Tunnelers Zora came second and earned her second qualifying leg.
